The team behind Department 43 has a wealth of talent that spans broadcast television and corporate video production as well live events. Our core team is supported by some of the UK’s leading TV freelancers.

Michael Sanders

Michael is an industry veteran with over 30 years behind a camera, in an edit suite, or messing around with cables and equipment. He is an accomplished DP, with a string of credits including award winning documentaries, factual shows, reality, news, sport and corporate. He has also edited a wide range of material from news to documentaries. His corporate work includes shoots for GSK, Microsoft, British Airways, Google, Novo Nordisk and PwC.

As well as being our in-house tech guru, he’s also the boss of the company.

Along with Michael, there are two key members of the team. Whilst both are freelancers in their own right, they are integral to the smooth running of many of our projects and play a vital role in delivering content to our clients.

Sarah Roberts (Producer)
With over 30 years experience in corporate and live events, Sarah has guided many projects from inception to delivery. As well as her creative abilities, she is known for a sensible cool headed approach and for keeping an eye on the finances. Sarahs own clients include BT, EY and…

Kieron Townend (Producer/Director)
Starting out in the industry in 2002, he rapidly climbed the career ladder to become a respected producer and director, working on many broadcast shows including the BBC’s The One Show, Watchdog and Trooping the Colour. His corporate work includes projects for brands such as Rolex, EY and the NHS.
